Lost Zombies are trying to create the first community generated zombie documentary.
They want your media – pictures, video, written material. Anything that might document the coming zombie apocalypse according to their timeline. Here’s more information on how to get involved (although for some of our participants it may already be too late…)
Attention undead! It may not be 2012 but you can still haul your carcass around a field in the name of entertainment. Zombie Sports Day of the Dead kicks off on Monday 31 August in London’s Leicester Square. Get your rotting corpse there to participate in classic track and field events such as the 100 metre shambles, deathacathlon, body bag race and grimnastics for the freshly turned.
A new study by four Canadian mathmeticians has revealed how quickly a zombie apocalypse could eradicate humankind and take over the planet. In a chapter of their new book (catchily titled Infectious Disease Modelling Research Progress) they apply the kind of mathematical modelling normally used to predict the spread of infectious illnesses (like swine flu) to a zombie attack.They’ve based it on the traditional slow-moving, cannibalistic undead zombie, rather than the more recent fast-zombies, and it turns out that we’d need to attack fast and often to have any chance of defeating the hordes. Simon Gandolfi took part in our shoot, playing a bookie. He’s put his picture on his blog and says his piece will be in the Guardian tomorrow (Saturday 15 Aug). We’re looking forward to reading it (no pressure Simon!)
Don’t pack away those blood-encrusted costumes just yet, Tom from Toronto has been in touch to tell us about Thrill The World – the annual worldwide dance to Michael Jackson’s Thriller at 1.30am on Sunday 25 October. There are a few dances planned across England, so if there’s one near you get your moves on.
On Thursday 6 August 4,026 certified zombies shuffled, moaned, roared and rampaged at our film shoot.This is a world record for the number of zombies captured on film! It was an amazing sight.Carl from the Guinness Book of Records was here to adjudicate and count them all, and hand over the official certificate. Even the Telegraph was there, which makes us feel almost grown-up. Check out the pictures from the shoot.

Filming starts today! We’re tucked backstage working out final changes to the script and making sure the main stage is ready for this afternoon.
From 3pm the main stage area at the Big Chill will be open to zombies only. No humans allowed… unless they’re the ones taking part in our new fun game: The Running Feast. Take a moment to imagine what that might involve.
This afternoon all assembled zombies will be welcomed by their King, and the festival of the undead will begin. Look how excited we are!
The tents are packed, we’ve got our wellies and we *think* we know where we left the sleeping bags. Time to haul our rotting corpses to Eastnor Castle! If you’re coming to the Big Chill we’ll see you there.
